Hovanka - a hideout for a stormy mind
Evidence-based emotional support for people with BPD and BPD traits, built on DBT skills. For the moments between therapy sessions, when everything feels too much.

You don't need a label to need support
Hovanka is for people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, people waiting for an assessment, and people who recognize some of this in themselves. Does any of it sound familiar?

Intense fear of being abandoned or rejected, even when nothing has happened
Relationships that swing between very close and very painful
A sense of self that keeps shifting: who you are, what you want, what you believe
Impulsive moments you later regret, such as spending, eating, substances or risky behavior
Emotions that change fast and hit hard, sometimes within hours
A lasting feeling of emptiness
Anger that feels overwhelming or hard to control
Feeling detached from yourself, unreal, or suspicious of others
Thoughts of self-harm or of not wanting to be here
Recognizing yourself here is not a diagnosis. Only a qualified professional can give one. If you're thinking about hurting yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right now.
You can only manage the chaos so far
Living with intense emotions every day is exhausting. Most apps offer a mood diary and a generic "calm down" screen, then leave you alone with your own data. Logging your pain isn't the same as understanding it or learning to handle it. That's the gap Hovanka is built for.
Hovanka is
built to support you, not to "therapize" you.
Help in the moment
Tap what you feel (short breath, racing heart, body tension) and Hovanka offers a matching DBT skill, such as paced breathing, TIPP or opposite action.
Learns your patterns
Over time, Hovanka learns your personal early-warning signs and can gently flag them before things escalate. It's a helper, not a guarantee.
Progress you can see
Each skill you practice adds to a private pattern log, so you can notice changes like "fewer high-intensity days this week." Progress isn't a straight line, and hard weeks are part of it.
Daily Blueprints
A short, clear plan each day that combines understanding (why you might feel this way) with practice (skills that build resilience).
Insights for your therapy
Weekly and monthly summaries you can choose to share with your therapist or psychiatrist.
Your toolbox
Mindful journaling, habit tracking, mood tracking, and a space to keep takeaways and homework from your therapy sessions.
What we don’t do
No diagnoses. No guessing at root causes. No fake-empathy chatbots. We have nothing against AI in mental health. It's just not what Hovanka is. Our technology learns your patterns & it doesn't pretend to be a therapist. Interpreting what you're going through takes a human, and we leave that to them.
Who stays behind Hovanka?
Our team is backed with people who do know how it’s like to feel lost, overwhelmed and helpless, cus no current tool works.
This team is also the one, who has experience in psychotherapy, deep-tech development, design, PR and other specialists.
We’re here to make Hovanka real, so you won’t be disappointed in other apps anymore. And all you will think about is how to live your best life!!!!

Hovanka started when
after being diagnosed with BPD, our CEO Kris found herself alone in the "now what?" gaps between weekly therapy sessions. The apps she tried asked her to track her pain in detail - and somehow, that made the pain louder, not quieter. None of them understood what her body actually needed in the moment things fell apart. So she started sketching something different: not another diary, but a way to get through the next two minutes. What began as a handful of notes for herself grew into Hovanka - built with a team of psychotherapists, engineers, and people who know this struggle firsthand, not as an abstract use case, but as something they've lived. We're not trying to fix what can't be fixed. BPD isn't something you cure - it's something you learn to carry differently. Hovanka exists for the moments between sessions, when the ground disappears and you need something steady to stand on until it's solid again.
We’ve come a long way

And our journey of building a clinical-grade solution for people with BPD and its symptoms is just gaining momentum!
Developed with clinicians
Hovanka is built on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, a leading evidence-based treatment for BPD. Our clinical team includes psychotherapists, and protocols are overseen by our Clinical Validation Lead, Dr. Khrystyna Zhyvago.
Why does Hovanka focuses on BPD specifically?
BPD is one of the fastest-growing, least-understood conditions in mental health - its core symptoms overlap directly with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and trauma responses, which is why most people with BPD live with at least one of these alongside it. That means building for BPD's core challenge reaches a much wider group of people than the diagnosis alone suggests. This matters especially in Ukraine, where prolonged collective trauma is already driving these numbers higher.
Does Hovanka use AI to analyze me?
No. Hovanka never uses AI to interpret why you feel a certain way or guess at the roots of your experience — that's clinical work for a real person, not an algorithm. Any machine learning we build only recognizes your own patterns over time, never explains them.
Do I need a diagnosis to use Hovanka?
No. Hovanka is for anyone who struggles with intense emotions. Hovanka is also never diagnosing you.
Are you a replacement for therapy?
No. Hovanka supports you between sessions and works alongside your therapist.
I don't have a therapist right now. Can I still use Hovanka?
Yes. Hovanka helps in the moment either way. If and when you do work with a therapist, your private records are there, ready to share - but having one isn't a requirement to start.
Who can see my data?
Only you, unless you choose to share a report with your therapist.
